ICSAtlanta 5th grade

Welcome to Middle School! Rising 6th graders have a summer reading assignment that will be due on August 5, 2024 and are encouraged to read many additional books from the suggested list below. Students who will be in Enhanced Math also have a summer math assignment. The assignment was explained and previewed with students during their Enhanced Math visit last week.

*Note: Enhanced math students were previously notified and invited to a Google Classroom for their summer work. Currently, this class is full for 2024-2025.

5th Grade Spring Events AAPPl Assessment

2023-2024 5th Grade Spring Events

Our 5th students will be participating in second language proficiency testing in March. The web-based assessment is called the ACTFL Assessment of Performance toward Proficiency in Languages (AAPPL) and is used to measure how students are developing in their target language proficiency (listening, reading, speaking, and writing). The testing window will be from March 18th through March 28th. Though this is our testing window, it does not mean students will be tested every day of the testing window.

We will begin reviewing the test format with students during class to ensure everyone is prepared for this assessment.

Hello ICSAtlanta 5th Grade Families!

We are so excited to share with you the donation link for this year's food items for our 2023 Holiday Market Event. This year, each grade level has been assigned specific food items to collect for ICSAtlanta's Holiday Market on December 9th (more info to come soon!). Please click on this LINK and volunteer to donate items from our 5th grade list.

All profits made at this event go right back to the classroom teachers to be used for the betterment of our classroom community, and we thank you in advance for your donations and participation! Your students are working very hard on their crafts and songs, and we are excited to share all of these things with you at the event on December 9th!

Sincerely,

The 5th Grade Team
