5th Grade French Teacher
My name is Antoine Oriola. I was born and raised in Cannes, France, and I moved to the US about 4 years ago. This is my third year teaching 5th grade at ICSAtlanta.
After earning my French architectural license in 2018 and becoming a French-registered architect, I began teaching environmental design at the undergraduate level in France. Previously, I also assisted in designing mainstage shows for a French puppetry company and was onboarded in 2020 to run a puppet performance and education program, providing vocational training and skills development under a nationally accredited framework. I trained young artists to see creative inspiration in found objects and materials, and to tell stories using movement and “visual vocabulary.”
I am currently pursuing a master of at in education (MAT) at GSCU, and it is challenging in a second language! My projected graduation date is May of 2026. As an educator, I still consider myself a designer. This is an important role in a Thinking classroom and in applying effectively Understanding by Design (UbD) strategies in a IB School.
Interesting fact: I’m familiar with four of the five foreign languages (French, Spanish, German, and English) taught at ICS Atlanta.
My husband, who is about to graduate in his Master of Applied Psychology at NYU, is Lebanese Canadian, so we always have great opportunities to enjoy different cultures and to spend time with family and friends all over the world.
